Pregnancy is a beautiful phase in a woman’s life. This is because it is exercising its amazing capability of bearing and carrying a child. However, a lot of women find out about it weeks or months after conception. This is common but for those women who have vices, it would be a good thing if they found out earlier so they can stop and adjust to a healthier living for their child. Especially that the most delicate stage for pregnant women is the first trimester.
Here are the following signs that may help you have a hint to check pregnancy.
- A feeling of exhaustion
Pregnant women will start to feel that they are easily fatigued and tired. They will have decreased energy as compared to their usual energy level. This is brought about by the hormonal changes that are happening in the body. This is to support and adapt to the needs of the growing baby in your womb.
- A feeling of tenderness in the breasts
Changes in the breasts will also be obvious as they are to be tender, swollen and more sensitive than usual. This is in response to the adjustment needed to produce milk for the baby.
- An occurrence of spotting
This is a common sign of pregnancy. This is called implantation bleeding. This happens a few days before menstruation. Once the fertilized egg attaches itself to the uterine lining, its effect would be disruption of some blood vessels thereby causing spotting. However, expect the discharge to be colored light brown or light red. This should be light in flow and should not have any blood clots.
- The difference between implantation bleeding and menstruation
Sometimes it can be a bit difficult to tell whether your spotting is a sign of implantation or a period. The difference would lie in its flow, implantation has a light flow and it does not progress. As for menstruation, it starts light then proceeds to a heavier flow that will sometimes last for about 4 to 7 days. Also, menstruation always has a darker color and it is more in consistency as compared to implantation. There will also be blood clots present in menstruation that is totally absent in implantation bleeding. This is not a guarantee but it is a common sign. If the implantation fails, the body will get rid of the egg in the form of light bleeding.
- Other signs
Always remember that signs of pregnancy may differ from one person to another. Some of these other signs may be present for some while some may be absent. They may experience morning sickness, headaches, abdominal cramping and more. Most of the signs mentioned above are just possible indicators of pregnancy. If you want to be sure and have a more established confirmation, you can visit a physician and get assistance in taking a pregnancy test. This will be a more accurate indication on whether you are pregnant or not. Make sure to make the most out of the experience in a good way.
